In the changing world things are changing all the time. For you, changes continually take place inside and outside of you. Inwardly, you have your thoughts, feelings and physical body. Outwardly, people, things and situations change daily. Some changes you’re consciously aware of and others, you might not be aware of them. If you had to keep track of all the changes you would find it impossible because everything is changing all the time. When it comes to living your day-to-day life, there are 2 important areas of change worth noting:
1. Changing from happy to horrible
You can suddenly change from being happy to feeling horrible when you’re reacting. Reactions surface in any number of ways and are based on the unrest inside of you. Something happens outside of you causing you to react. Your reactions are influenced by what’s happening inside and outside of you and how you feel in relation to what you’re thinking about. What you’re thinking and feeling is not so much based on what’s happening as much as it’s based on the unrest inside of you at the time.
Think about having an argument with your spouse and now you’re upset for the rest of the day. What you’re upset about and the unrest inside of you can be two different things. For example, you’re upset because your spouse isn’t doing something you asked them to do. Underneath that upset is unrest related to something you’re dealing with yourself. Maybe there’s something important you’ve been putting off doing for whatever reason and now it’s causing you to be agitated inside. That agitation can surface at times when someone doesn’t do something you want them to.
Energetically, there is a difference between your upset and the unrest inside. Reactions surface because of what’s happening outside of you. Inwardly are your thoughts and feelings related to what’s happening and that is where you need to focus your attention if you want to heal and resolve your unrest.
2. Changing from horrible to happy
You change from feeling horrible to being happy when you heal and resolve the unrest inside of you. These changes are often overlooked and yet so important when it comes to everyday life relationships. To heal and resolve your unrest impacts not only you but every single one of your relationships.
Think about being upset with your spouse. That upset takes place inside of you AND it will also be inside of you where your healing and resolution takes place. When that happens you no longer react like you did before which means you act differently the next time the same situation presents itself.
”Change happens inside before the change is visible outside of you.”
This article isn’t about how to heal and resolve your unrest. The world is full of how to’s. This is about growing in awareness. Every experience you have in life offers you an opportunity to learn and grow. Your growing involves gaining awareness of what’s going on inside in relation to what’s happening outside of you. For you to pay attention to the times when you become emotionally upset and the times when you heal and resolve the unrest inside gives one of the greatest gifts of all. The first step in relating more fully with yourself and gaining greater relationships from the inside out.
